Speaker Spotlight - Abigail McCain

We are excited to welcome Abigail McCain as a featured speaker on our Careers in Meteorology Panel at the Rocket City Weather Festival! Abigail is a senior atmospheric scientist and group lead at CFD Research Corporation in Huntsville, AL, and brings a wealth of experience in the private sector to our panel. With a background in both government and commercial applications, she will offer a unique perspective on the diverse career opportunities available to meteorologists.

Abigail holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in atmospheric science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and she currently leads the development of advanced weather software tools for the Department of Defense (DOD) and commercial sectors. Her work is crucial in providing accurate and timely weather information to support a wide range of applications, including defense operations and aerospace initiatives.

In addition to her professional achievements, Abigail is an active member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS), serving on the AMS Board of Private Sector Meteorologists and the AMS Aviation, Range, and Aerospace Meteorology Committee. Her involvement with these organizations underscores her commitment to advancing the field of meteorology and fostering collaboration between scientists and industry leaders.
