Speaker Spotlight - Christina Amiot

The Rocket City Weather Festival is proud to feature Christina Amiot on our Careers in Meteorology Panel this year! Christina brings a wealth of experience and insights from her impressive journey through the field of atmospheric science, making her a valuable resource for aspiring meteorologists and weather enthusiasts alike.



Christina’s academic journey began at Arizona State University (ASU), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Meteorology with a Geography-Climatology focus in 2012. Her passion for atmospheric sciences then led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), which she completed in 2017. While at UAH, Christina gained hands-on experience as a student volunteer for the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Huntsville, laying a strong foundation for her future career.



In 2017, Christina officially joined the NWS as a meteorologist at the Jackson, KY, office, located in the heart of eastern Kentucky. After two years of serving the region and enhancing her skills, she transitioned to the Mobile, AL NWS office in late 2019. Here she contributed to forecasting and public safety efforts along the Gulf Coast, a region known for its unique weather challenges.


Most recently, in 2023, Christina came full circle, returning to Huntsville, AL, where she currently works at the NWS office that played a pivotal role in her early career development.


Christina’s dedication to public service, her academic achievements, and her diverse experiences across multiple regions make her an excellent representative of the National Weather Service. She is passionate about inspiring the next generation of meteorologists and sharing her journey with students and professionals alike.
